Objective

commemorate Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar-wai’s seminal work In the Mood for Love with a limited apparel collection


Problem

contextualizing the collection with an audience that likely never experienced the film’s release


Insight

the film’s themes of isolation and desire for connection are analogous to the experience of quarantine


Strategy

create an homage to Wong Kar-wai’s film through a contemporary lens

Flowery Years, a short film cum lookbook, featuring two protagonists separately sharing the experience of lockdown and a muted desire for connection à la In the Mood for Love


Results

sold out apparel release with an accompanying social media campaign that drove growth, engagement, and shares, reaching thousands of unique views in the campaign’s first week
